Just the Basics

Flights must come into Los Angeles, CA (airport code: LAX)
Transfers from the airport to the pier are $25 pp

Flights must depart from Vancouver, Canada (airport code: YVR)
Transfers to the ship from the pier are $25 pp

Option #1

Book NCL’s airfare

(includes your transfers and in some cases, an overnight stay).

Their airfare rates include your transfer from the airport to the pier the day of the cruise and your transfer from the pier to the airport after the cruise (a $50 pp value).  If NCL cannot get you a flight to arrive in time on 5/7/11, the quoted rate will also include an overnight stay in Los Angles on 5/6/11. If you do have an overnight, you will also be provided with a transfer from the airport to the hotel. By booking their air, you won’t have to worry about a thing!

Many air cities are available. Call Cruise & Crop for rates. Rates are subject to change.

Option #2

Book your own air and arrive on 5/6/11.
Book the pre-cruise hotel & transfers through NCL.

Call Cruise & Crop for current rates on 1-night pre-hotel options through NCL. These rates would also include your transfer to the pier (but you’d have to get your own transfer from the airport to the hotel the night before). Hotel stays must be booked prior to final payment. After this deadline, hotel packages may not be available.

You’d also need to purchase a one-way transfer from the pier to the airport for after the cruise.  This is $25 pp.

Current Hotel Offer through NCL:
Sheraton Delfina Santa Monica $155.00 pp
Westin Los Angeles Airport $99.00 pp
Hotel rates vary based on how many people are in the cabin.

Option #3

Book your own air and arrive on 5/7/11.
Book NCL Transfers

If you book your own flights, flights must arrive at the Los Angels airport no later than 12:30 p.m. on 5/7/11 and leave no earlier than 12:30 p.m. on 5/14/11 from the Vancouver airport.  Round-trip transfers can be purchased for $50 pp.

NOTE:  You CANNOT book your own air & hotel (to arrive on 5/6/11) and still purchase NCL transfers.  If you do everything on your own, you’ll have to find your own transportation to and from the pier.  The LAX airport is approx. 18 miles from the pier. Visit http://www.pcsterminals.com/Default.aspx?mod=layellow for a list of Shuttles, Taxies and Rental companies. Cruise & Crop does not operate or control in any respect the services provided by these companies, nor does it guarantee their performance.

Option #4

Drive to the Pier

Parking Fees: $12/day for vehicles up to 20 feet in length
The total fee for the time the vehicle will be parked is due on entry. They accept cash, Visa, Mastercard and Traveler’s Checks issued in U.S. dollars.

Driving Directions to the pier: CLICK HERE or HERE for information from NCL

Please Note: The flights and hotels offered by Royal Caribbean can sell out. Do not delay in booking this portion of your trip. Call Cruise & Crop/CruiseOne to arrange these details.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF USING CRUISE LINE AIR

ADVANTAGES:

  • The cost of air travel can be lower when purchased through the cruise line’s air/sea program, because the cruise line can negotiate lower air rates. Since they are subsidizing the cost, you are often able to save a great deal of money.
  • Transfers between the airport and pier are generally included at no cost to you. There are also representatives of the cruise line in the baggage claim area to assist you.
  • Should inclement weather or unforeseeable circumstances delay your flight, the cruise line will cooperate with the air carrier whenever possible in order for you to make the sailing.

DISADVANTAGES:

  • Your routing and airline schedule is arranged by the cruise line and may include connecting flights as deemed necessary by the airline or cruise line. Your routing may include a layover or change of planes, especially with flights to Europe, the Orient, South Pacific, Mexico and/or the opposite coast of the United States. As a general rule, you are scheduled to depart from and return to the same airport.
  • Unless you use the cruise line’s pre or post package at a designated hotel, there is an additional fee to change the date or flight itinerary. This is called an air deviation ($75 pp), and you must make your cruise consultant aware of your desire for the change so that necessary adjustments can be made.

Passports are REQUIRED for this cruise.  All passports must be valid for 6 months after disembarking the ship.  Expired passports are not acceptable.  Please visit www.travel.state.gov for information on obtaining a passport.  DON'T DELAY - APPLY FOR YOUR PASSPORT TODAY!

Shore excursions can be booked through NCL on their website. Go to www.NCL.com and click on the "Already Booked your cruise?" link. Look for the little picture of the passport. You will need to register on their site to gain access to this information. Don't delay, excursions can sell out and they must be booked at least 48 hours prior to sailing.

What you'll need...Scrapbooking Packing List

**Lighting**
Please be advised that the lighting is a little dim in the crop room.  You may want to think about bringing a lamp (such as a OTT-LITE® TrueColorTM Battery Powered Task Lamp).  We recommend bringing a battery operated lamp as there are limited outlets in the crop rooms.  If your lamp does need to be plugged in, please bring extension cords and a power strip.  I do not personally own one of these lamps so I am not endorsing it - I simply know that many crafters really like them.

For the classes, please bring the following basic kit:

  • Scissors
  • 1/2" & 1" Circle Punch
  • Corner Rounder/Corner Chomper
  • Acrylic Block
  • 12" Personal Trimmer
  • Crop-A-Dile
  • Hole Punch
  • Brown, Black & White Distressing Ink
  • Brown & Black Pen
  • Pencil
  • Glue Dots
  • Pop Dots
  • Paper Piercer
  • Scotch Tape
  • Sand Paper or Nail File for distressing
  • Wet-Wipes
  • Glue Sticks & Tape Runner - UHU recommended
  • Terrifically Tacky Tape - 1/4" & 1/2"
  • Bone Folder
  • Cricut Tool Kit
  • *There will not be a store on-board. The exception is there will be some Cricut cartridges to purchase.

**It is not required that you bring your Cricut machine. However, if you decide to bring your own, then you will need to pack long extension cords and a power strip as outlets in the room are limited.
