Just the Basics

Flights must come into either La Guardia (airport code:LGA) or John F. Kennedy (airport code: JFK)
Transfers are $40 pp each way ($80 round-trip) from either airport

Option #1

Book Carnival ’s airfare

(in some cases, an overnight stay is included).

Transfers are not included but can be purchased for a fee. If Carnival cannot get you a flight to arrive in time on 6/6/10, the quoted rate will also include an overnight stay in New York on 6/5/10. By booking their air and transfers, you won’t have to worry about a thing!

Many air cities are available. Call Cruise & Crop for rates. Rates are subject to change.

Option #2

Book your own air and arrive on 6/5/10.
Book the pre-cruise hotel & transfers through Carnival.

Call Cruise & Crop for current rates on 1-night pre-hotel options through Carnival. These rates would also include your transfer to the pier (but you’d have to get your own transfer from the airport to the hotel the night before). Hotel stays must be booked before March 31, 2010. After this deadline, hotel packages may not be available.

Hotel currently being offered through Carnival:
As of 9/10/09, hotels were not yet being offered. Check back later.

You’d also need to purchase a one-way transfer from the pier to the airport for after the cruise.  This is $80 pp.

Hotel rates vary based on how many people are in the room.

Option #3

Book your own air and arrive on 6/6/10.
Book Carnival Transfers

If you book your own flights, flights must arrive at the airport no later than 1:00 p.m. on 6/6/10 and leave no earlier than 2:00 p.m. on 6/10/10.  Round-trip transfers can be purchased for $80 pp.

NOTE:  You CANNOT book your own air & hotel (to arrive on 6/5/10) and still purchase Carnival transfers.  If you do everything on your own, you’ll have to find your own transportation to and from the pier.  LGA is 10 miles (approx. 45 minutes) from the pier. JFK is 17 miles (approx. 65-75 minutes) from the pier. Taxis are available at either airport. A taxi from LGA is metered and will run around $25 plus toll. From JFK, a flat rate taxi ride is $45 plus toll. Rates are subject to change. Cruise & Crop does not operate or control in any respect the services provided by these companies, nor does it guarantee their performance.

Option #4

Drive to the Pier

You are leaving from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal (aka New York Cruise Terminal)
Parking Fees: $30 per day (subject to change)
The total fee for the time the vehicle will be parked is due on entry.

Directions to Manhattan Cruise Terminal Additional driving directions will be available in your ticket packets.

Please Note: The flights and hotels offered by Carnival can sell out. Do not delay in booking this portion of your trip. Call Cruise & Crop/CruiseOne to arrange these details.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF USING CRUISE LINE AIR

ADVANTAGES:

  • The cost of air travel can be lower when purchased through the cruise line’s air/sea program, because the cruise line can negotiate lower air rates. Since they are subsidizing the cost, you are often able to save a great deal of money.
  • Transfers between the airport and pier are generally included at no cost to you. There are also representatives of the cruise line in the baggage claim area to assist you.
  • Should inclement weather or unforeseeable circumstances delay your flight, the cruise line will cooperate with the air carrier whenever possible in order for you to make the sailing.

DISADVANTAGES:

  • Your routing and airline schedule is arranged by the cruise line and may include connecting flights as deemed necessary by the airline or cruise line. Your routing may include a layover or change of planes, especially with flights to Europe, the Orient, South Pacific, Mexico and/or the opposite coast of the United States. As a general rule, you are scheduled to depart from and return to the same airport.
  • Unless you use the cruise line’s pre or post package at a designated hotel, there is an additional fee to change the date or flight itinerary. This is called an air deviation ($75 pp), and you must make your cruise consultant aware of your desire for the change so that necessary adjustments can be made.

If you are planning travel for June 2009 or beyond, please take a minute to review the passport policy below. If you don't already have a valid passport, be sure to avoid the rush and give yourself plenty of time to apply for one. Once you've got a passport in hand, the whole world is yours to explore.

AIR TRAVEL
ALL PERSONS traveling by air outside of the United States are required to present a passport or other valid travel document to enter or re-enter the United States.

LAND AND SEA TRAVEL
The following summarizes information available on the Department of Homeland Security’s website.

  • CURRENTLY:
U.S. citizens need to present either (a) a passport, passport card (scheduled to be in full production beginning in July 2008), or WHTI-compliant document; or (b) a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, along with proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate.
  • LATER:
On June 1, 2009, the U.S. government will implement the full requirements of the land and sea phase of WHTI.  The proposed rules require most U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry to have a passport, passport card, or WHTI-compliant document
