Just the Basics

Flights must come into Tampa, FL (airport code: TPA)
Transfers are $20.50 pp each way ($41 round-trip)

Option #1

Book Royal Caribbean’s airfare

(includes your transfers and in some cases, an overnight stay).

Their airfare rates include your transfer from the airport to the pier the day of the cruise and your transfer from the pier to the airport after the cruise (a $41 pp value).  If Royal Caribbean cannot get you a flight to arrive in time on 3/15/10, the quoted rate will also include an overnight stay in Tampa on 3/14/10. If you do have an overnight, you will also be provided with a transfer from the airport to the hotel. By booking their air, you won’t have to worry about a thing!

Many air cities are available. Call Cruise & Crop for rates. Rates are subject to change.

Option #2

Book your own air and arrive on 3/14/10.
Book the pre-cruise hotel & transfers through Royal Caribbean.

Call Cruise & Crop for current rates on 1-night pre-hotel options through Royal Caribbean. These rates would also include your transfer to the pier (but you’d have to get your own transfer from the airport to the hotel the night before). Hotel stays must be booked before July 9, 2010. After this deadline, hotel packages may not be available.

You’d also need to purchase a one-way transfer from the pier to the airport for after the cruise.  This is $20.50 pp.

Hotel rates vary based on how many people are in the room.

Option #3

Book your own air and arrive on 3/15/10.
Book Royal Caribbean Transfers

If you book your own flights, flights must arrive at the Tampa airport no later than 1:00 p.m. on 3/15/10 and leave no earlier than 11:30 a.m. on 3/20/10.  Round-trip transfers can be purchased for $41 pp.

NOTE:  You CANNOT book your own air & hotel (to arrive on 3/14/10) and still purchase Royal Caribbean transfers.  If you do everything on your own, you’ll have to find your own transportation to and from the pier.  The airport is approx. 20 miles from the pier. Visit http://www.tampaairport.com/ground_transportation/index.asp for a list of Shuttles, Taxies and Rental companies. Cruise & Crop does not operate or control in any respect the services provided by these companies, nor does it guarantee their performance.

Option #4

Drive to the Pier

Parking Fees: Parking is available in in the Parking Garage across the street from Terminal 3. No reservations are required to park at the Port of Tampa. Long-term parking for a regular vehicle occupying a single space is $14 per day.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF USING CRUISE LINE AIR

ADVANTAGES:

  • The cost of air travel can be lower when purchased through the cruise line’s air/sea program, because the cruise line can negotiate lower air rates. Since they are subsidizing the cost, you are often able to save a great deal of money.
  • Transfers between the airport and pier are generally included at no cost to you. There are also representatives of the cruise line in the baggage claim area to assist you.
  • Should inclement weather or unforeseeable circumstances delay your flight, the cruise line will cooperate with the air carrier whenever possible in order for you to make the sailing.

DISADVANTAGES:

  • Your routing and airline schedule is arranged by the cruise line and may include connecting flights as deemed necessary by the airline or cruise line. Your routing may include a layover or change of planes, especially with flights to Europe, the Orient, South Pacific, Mexico and/or the opposite coast of the United States. As a general rule, you are scheduled to depart from and return to the same airport.
  • Unless you use the cruise line’s pre or post package at a designated hotel, there is an additional fee to change the date or flight itinerary. This is called an air deviation ($75 pp), and you must make your cruise consultant aware of your desire for the change so that necessary adjustments can be made.

If you are planning travel for 2009 or beyond, please take a minute to review the passport policy below. If you don't already have a valid passport, be sure to avoid the rush and give yourself plenty of time to apply for one. Once you've got a passport in hand, the whole world is yours to explore.

AIR TRAVEL
ALL PERSONS traveling by air outside of the United States are required to present a passport or other valid travel document to enter or re-enter the United States.

LAND AND SEA TRAVEL
The following summarizes information available on the Department of Homeland Security’s website.

  • CURRENTLY:
U.S. citizens need to present either (a) a passport, passport card (scheduled to be in full production beginning in July 2008), or WHTI-compliant document; or (b) a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, along with proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate.
  • LATER:
On June 1, 2009, the U.S. government will implement the full requirements of the land and sea phase of WHTI.  The proposed rules require most U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry to have a passport, passport card, or WHTI-compliant document
