Just the Basics

Flights must come into Newark, NJ (airport code: EWR)
Transfers are $27.50 pp each way ($55 round-trip)

Option #1

Book Royal Caribbean’s airfare

(includes your transfers and in some cases, an overnight stay).

Their airfare rates include your transfer from the airport to the pier the day of the cruise and your transfer from the pier to the airport after the cruise (a $55 pp value).  If Royal Caribbean cannot get you a flight to arrive in time on 9/24/11, the quoted rate will also include an overnight stay in Newark on 9/23/11. If you do have an overnight, you will also be provided with a transfer from the airport to the hotel. By booking their air, you won’t have to worry about a thing!

Many air cities are available. Call Cruise & Crop for rates. Rates are subject to change.

Choice Air:
If you'd like to choose your routing schedule, you can choose to book "Choice Air". These rates are subject to change until paid in full. Transfers are not included in the price but can be added. In most cases, flights are non-refundable and no changes can be made once booked. Flights are customizable and you can choose to book Coach, First Class or Business Class.

To book your own Choice Air reservation, go to www.ChoiceAir.com Check rates as often as you'd like and then when you are ready...go ahead and book. You will need your reservation number, Ship name (Explorer of the Seas) and sailing date (24SEP2011) in order to book. Full payment is due at the time of booking. Once booked, Cruise & Crop will receive notification and we'll send you an updated confirmation.

Option #2

Book your own air and arrive on 9/23/11.
Book the pre-cruise hotel & transfers through Royal Caribbean.

Call Cruise & Crop for current rates on 1-night pre-hotel options through Royal Caribbean. These rates would also include your transfer to the pier (but you’d have to get your own transfer from the airport to the hotel the night before). Hotel stays must be booked before July 5, 2011. After this deadline, hotel packages may not be available.

You’d also need to purchase a one-way transfer from the pier to the airport for after the cruise.  This is $27.50 pp.

Hotel rates vary based on how many people are in the room. Rates are subject to change.

Option #3

Book your own air and arrive on 9/24/11.
Book Royal Caribbean Transfers

If you book your own flights, flights must arrive at the Newark airport no later than 1:00 p.m. on 9/24/11 and leave no earlier than 1:00 p.m. on 9/29/11.  Round-trip transfers can be purchased for $55 pp.

NOTE:  You CANNOT book your own air & hotel (to arrive on 9/23/11) and still purchase Royal Caribbean transfers.  If you do everything on your own, you’ll have to find your own transportation to and from the pier.  The airport is approx. 20 minutes from the pier. Visit http://www.cruiseliberty.com/ for a list of Shuttles, Taxies and Rental companies. Cruise & Crop does not operate or control in any respect the services provided by these companies, nor does it guarantee their performance.

Option #4

Drive to the Pier

Parking Fees: $19/day for vehicles up to 20 feet in length
The total fee for the time the vehicle will be parked is due on entry. They accept cash, Visa, Mastercard and Traveler’s Checks issued in U.S. dollars.

Please Note: The flights and hotels offered by Royal Caribbean can sell out. Do not delay in booking this portion of your trip. Call Cruise & Crop/CruiseOne to arrange these details.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF USING CRUISE LINE AIR

ADVANTAGES:

  • The cost of air travel can be lower when purchased through the cruise line’s air/sea program, because the cruise line can negotiate lower air rates. Since they are subsidizing the cost, you are often able to save a great deal of money.
  • Transfers between the airport and pier are generally included at no cost to you. There are also representatives of the cruise line in the baggage claim area to assist you.
  • Should inclement weather or unforeseeable circumstances delay your flight, the cruise line will cooperate with the air carrier whenever possible in order for you to make the sailing.

DISADVANTAGES:

  • Your routing and airline schedule is arranged by the cruise line and may include connecting flights as deemed necessary by the airline or cruise line. Your routing may include a layover or change of planes, especially with flights to Europe, the Orient, South Pacific, Mexico and/or the opposite coast of the United States. As a general rule, you are scheduled to depart from and return to the same airport.
  • Unless you use the cruise line’s pre or post package at a designated hotel, there is an additional fee to change the date or flight itinerary. This is called an air deviation ($75 pp), and you must make your cruise consultant aware of your desire for the change so that necessary adjustments can be made.

Please take a minute to review the passport policy below. If you don't already have a valid passport, be sure to avoid the rush and give yourself plenty of time to apply for one. Once you've got a passport in hand, the whole world is yours to explore. Cruise & Crop/CruiseOne highly recommends traveling with a passport!

AIR TRAVEL - U.S. Citizens
All U.S. citizens including children must present a passport or other approved travel document when entering the United States by air. U.S. citizens can present a passport, NEXUS card at airports with NEXUS kiosks, U.S. military ID with travel orders, or a U.S. Merchant Mariner Document when on official business.

LAND AND SEA TRAVEL

The following summarizes information available on the Department of Homeland Security’s website.

Beginning June 1, 2009

  •  U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry are required to have documents that comply with the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI), most commonly a U.S. passport, a passport card, a trusted traveler card such as NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST, or an enhanced driver's license. See the complete list of WHTI-compliant documents.
